
Shairbek Dzhuraev
Shairbek Dzhuraev, PhD, is a political scientist and research consultant with expertise in Central Asia’s international relations, foreign policy, and regional cooperation. He is the President of Crossroads Central Asia, an independent research institute based in Bishkek, and currently serves as Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. Shairbek holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrews and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Over the past 15 years, he has led and contributed to numerous research and evaluation projects for international organizations, including the United Nations, European Union, USAID, and various NGOs and development agencies.
In addition to his research and consultancy work, Shairbek regularly teaches university courses on international politics, Central Asian affairs, and foreign policy analysis. He is a member of PONARS Eurasia and has served in advisory groups for the EU–Central Asia Monitoring and the European Neighbourhood Council. Fluent in English, Russian, and Kyrgyz, he works at the intersection of global policy debates and local realities across Central Asia.
